"About me: Laura Walker - Just a home sewer who loves making toys for my kids! I'm on insta @sewcandid
Who I made it for: My son who has named him 'Croaky'. He takes him everywhere, even camping last weekend!!!
Fabric: I actually made my alligator out of a soft, blue blanket from a chain-store!
Options: I choose to smock my alligator to achieve that scaly look on its back. This process was really new to me but the instructions and the YouTube tutorial helped me enormously. I let my son choose from the different eye options and he selected the half lid.
Sewing: Smocking took time, but it was worth it to achieve that scaly look. After that the alligator came together really quickly. The alligator was a fantastic size, perfect as a fun playmate or snuggle toy.
Testimonial: I was instantly drawn to this beautiful pattern for its emotive face and textured, scaly back. The pattern design is very clever and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. My son absolutely adores his new alligator. This is truly the most amazing toy pattern and I highly recommend it! "

"I am a stay at home momma and maker, and I can be found on Facebook
https://www.facebook.com/sunflowerbackroads/ and Instagram @sunflowerbackroads and make a variety of things, but sewing and embroidery are absolutely one of my favorite things to do.
From the moment I first saw the grinning gator I immediately fell in love with the personality, and one of a kind character that this gator creates. For my fabrics, I chose a green velvet and green corduroy and a stiffened felt for my own spin on teeth.
Anyone who makes this grinning gator will love their creation. My daughter loves “Lulu” and is now a beloved part of the family. She has kept it by her side since it’s creation and I am absolutely in awe of how much she enjoys it. And yes, Lulu is a big fan of apples, snuggles, and makes an awesome pillow for long car rides!
I am currently already working on my second gator, which my sister has requested as a gift for her wedding present! This gator was requested to have the smocking option. I have never smocked before, but the online tutorial and videos helped me learn how to get that process done and I can hardly wait to complete that gator for her! I imagine I have many more gators to create in my future as anyone in my family who has already seen one, wants one! This is a fantastic sew and a joy to make! " Emily Funk
This alligator is actually smocked minky! It has such great texture and dimension. She can be found at Sew Funky (@sew.funky.plushes)
Kristin Sirota
This fun Croki took a little float in the pool and features an amazing smocked back. Fabric is (I believe) a yaya han cosplay fabric and the foot has a special "Glorious Purpose" logo that is reminiscent of Kristin's cabbage patch days.

Sasha Katz
The green fleece alligator is a wonderful example of the defined texture that smocked fleece can offer! It does get thick, so use a heavy duty needle when sewing these parts together.
Lisa Smith
This is a memory animal alligator with a denim stomach, button jointed legs, and the collar from the original shirt. Such a fun interpretation of the keepsake animal!
Jessica Speelman
